Sitting in the Poison Ivy

As I readied myself to go to a meeting tonight, I heard a voice very clearly drifting through my open window.  Across the street, sitting in the green (poison ivy)  a girl, somewhat agitated, talked on the phone.  I found it interesting as I was on my way to an Advocacy Group for Women caught in Domestic Abuse and as I over heard the conversation across the street, I was allowed into a private corner of this girls life.

She sounded angry and upset.  Her language was peppered with four letter words and on some level she was realizing that her "situation" was not a good one.  She spoke that her whole life was in front of her and she hated the way it was going right now. Fight, fight, fight...

It reminds me of a song I have sung many times

People Need the Lord!
Everyday they pass me by,
I can see it in their eyes.
Empty people filled with care,
Headed who knows where?

On they go through private pain,
Living fear to fear.
Laughter hides their silent cries,
Only Jesus hears.

People need the Lord, people need the Lord.
At the end of broken dreams, He's the open door.
People need the Lord, people need the Lord.
When will we realize, people need the Lord?

We are called to take His light
To a world where wrong seems right.
What could be too great a cost
For sharing Life with one who's lost?

Through His love our hearts can feel
All the grief they bear.
They must hear the Words of Life
Only we can share.

People need the Lord, people need the Lord
At the end of broken dreams, He's the open door.
People need the Lord, people need the Lord.
When will we realize that we must give our lives,
For people need the Lord.

Brothers and Sisters

Take a moment with me and lets pray for this one that the Lord knows.  Pray that her eyes will be open to HIM and that she will step into all that HE has for her. She is not insignificant to HIM and HE  loves her so.
and remember People NEED THE LORD!

Blessings!
