Freshly Squeezed Juice

Years ago, while attending church in a school building, the pastor preached his message, the whole while "massaging" a large orange.  He mentioned as to how if you put your nose on the orange you would be able to smell a faint citrus scent.

He spoke about how through life we are hard pressed through difficult times and circumstances.  At the end of the sermon, when no one expected it, he threw the orange, now just a "ball of juice" at the cement wall and the fragrance of the fruit filled the air for all to smell.

Are you being squeezed?  What do you smell like?
Yes, the test is in the "squeeze".  How do we respond to the "hard-presses" of this life?  Do we whine and complain that life has done us wrong and that no one understands or do we wipe our tears, look up and with a surge of commitment say:

"Greater is He that is within me that he that is in the world."

Remember:

  1. He giveth more grace as our burdens grow greater,
    He sendeth more strength as our labors increase;
    To added afflictions He addeth His mercy,
    To multiplied trials He multiplies peace.
  2. When we have exhausted our store of endurance,
    When our strength has failed ere the day is half done,
    When we reach the end of our hoarded resources
    Our Father’s full giving is only begun.
  3. Fear not that thy need shall exceed His provision,
    Our God ever yearns His resources to share;
    Lean hard on the arm everlasting, availing;
    The Father both thee and thy load will upbear.
  4. His love has no limits, His grace has no measure,
    His power no boundary known unto men;
    For out of His infinite riches in Jesus
    He giveth, and giveth, and giveth again.
