A Hug; Just Cause

My mom was sharing with me today that there is a "worship singer" where she attends  church, that when done singing, comes to mom's row and gives her a big hug on the way to her seat.  
Just cause. 
This is a special thing.  My mom, almost 95 in another month, feels so special and loved from this simple act.  What a precious thing.  My dad would say "Don't cost no more"  an old saying from the country that says simply, "why not"..


Today ask the Lord what you might do "just cause"  Some little thing that does not cost you anything but would make a big and lasting impact.  I know that you will be given something.

Manna

I so hate to admit this but I think, in fact I know, that I would have been one of the people complaining about the Manna.  
There it's off my chest, out of my mouth, I've admitted it.


Now it's not really that I'm a complainer, you see, but Manna? the same old stuff day after day..year after year.  Come on now it HAD to get old.


In the beginning I bet it was GREAT!   What a convenience!  and Yummy too!!  Never had to worry about storage, delivered to your "tent flap" and there you had it, DINNER!! But the problem is it was breakfast and lunch as well
.
Wonder what the Lord was doing, what He was trying to teach, what HE wanted to see in His people.


I also admit that I am not a Biblical scholar, but I am over 50, raised a bunch of kids and have been "worked on" alot.  I think the Lord was looking for gratitude.  Day in and day out, in the night hours as well.,,, an Attitude of Gratitude.   Yes I know you don't want to fake it and He is not asking you to.( I kind of think He is able to look right through those facades anyway).  


But are you grateful?  How often?  For what?  Do you believe that the circumstances you are in right now are from the Lord's hand? (This is directed to people who are "following" the Lord)   An infallible sign of faith, I think, is gratitude....thanksgiving....IN EVERYTHING,   


Today put it at the top of your TO DO list.  Let's do it!
Thank YOU Lord!   right where I am,   I lift my hands and say Thanks Lord....You have it all under control!

Counting

"Are you heavy burdened with a load of care? Does your cross seems heavy you are called to bear?.  
Count your many blessing, angels will attend, help and comfort give you till your journey's end"

"It's time to count your blessings! Name them one by one!  Count your many blessings and see what God has done!"

How easy it is for us to dip down into the doldrums.  Woe is me...life is hard... times are tough, the world is falling apart... 
This is NOT the language of the child of God.  James 1:2+3 says we are to count it ALL JOY (the good, bad and ugly) .... I will repeat it again ~ ALL ~ no exceptions.  If it came our way the Lord has allowed it.  We don't have to understand it we only need to  believe HIM and call on His grace to get us through. 

Determine today to COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS.  Start before your feet hit the floor and finish as you crawl into bed.  

The enemy is going to cringe!

Are You a Person of Gratitude?

and if not ~ why?

We have everything to be grateful for~!  
We have been forgiven, set free, saved from sin and hell.  We now have "heaven" at our disposal.    We can have assurance about our insurance!
The scripture assures us that at salvation we are new creatures, old things have passed  away.  Have you experienced a fresh start?  Its available any minute of any day.
Be careful that you do not allow your experiences to override the truth of the Word. 
The Living Word is true and everything written in it is yours! 


I challenge you to ask the Lord to give you a "life-verse".  He will.  Begin to read His Word and before long a scripture will "pop out" at you.  It will fill you with peace, joy and hope for the future.
Let's pray:

Father, Speak to me today Lord as I read and study Your word.  Give me Your wisdom and direction to walk on this earth.  Let me hear Your voice.  Fill me with the grace to trust You,  that You might have more of me as I take more of You. 
 I thank you for salvation Father.  Please give me a Spirit of Gratitude. I depend on You. Amen
