What Do You "Hear" Like?

Oh we know what you "look" like but what do you "hear" like?

How is your speech seasoned?

Years ago I knew a couple who said their little boy was born with a hot pepper in his mouth.  What would people say about you?

The Scripture plainly says that the tongue is the smallest yet hardest part of the body to control.  With all the stuff being thrown at us day in and day out it is easy to get lax in our speech.

THIS IS IMPORTANT.
God cares.
We carry His Name.
We are His Ambassadors.

Does our speech change depending on who we are speaking to?  Do you ever find your self saying " forgive my french" or " excuse my language"?

Proverbs 21:23
Eph 4:29
Ps 34:13
James 1:26
1Peter 3:10
Proverbs 18:21
Ps 141:3
James 3:10
Proverbs 10:19
Ps 37:30
James 3:11
Titus 3:2
Matthew 15:11

I was going to write these out but I think it would be a GREAT EXERCISE to get out THE BOOK, russel the pages and look these "God Words" up. Write them down. Contemplate on them .  Take it to heart and let the Lord speak, guide you and grace you to live in righteousness.

1 Corinthians 5:5

Sometimes we just have to let someone "go"

You may have a (Christian) friend, family member or acquaintance who is stuck in a pattern of sin.

You have prayed, counseled, spoken, preached and badgered ~ to no avail.

This one does not mind talking about his/her problems ( in fact may be contacting you on a regular basis with his/her issues) and is probably in a state of conviction.
But they are just not willing or seeming able to follow thru in obedience.
You find yourself in a place where you are beginning to "wear" their issues and stuff.  You are troubled, irritated, frustrated and weary ~

Verse 5 of 1 Corinthians 5 is a hard verse for us to swallow.
"hand this man over to Satan for the destruction of his flesh, so that his spirit may be saved on the day of the Lord."

I have actually not only had to do this but have seen it "work" in a person's life to bring them back into obedience.  Sometimes it is a long haul ~  sometimes it happens quicker.

There is something about losing a friendship, a congregation or a confidant that can shake one to their core.  When one is told that they are no longer allowed to come over, will not have their calls answered and is distanced it has a way of "getting their attention"

It's not only hard for the one in sin but for the boundary maker himself.

You must believe a few  things:
1 God loves this person with an everlasting love
2 God can go and do what you cannot.
3. The Holy Spirit has a wonderful way of getting some one's attention by allowing them to be miserable in their sin.

Pray and ask if it's time.
Ask for the words and opportunity to deliver the "word" and then pull back.
 This is not mean.
This is a tactic of the Lord, that we get out of the way and let the Lord do what He does best.
Sin puts one in the "unprotected area" thus they are in a sense "handed over to satan"  for the destruction of the flesh ( the rebellious stance)

We have become soft on sin and have become desensitized to the cancer that it grows.  The Lord will guide for, beloved, the Lord desires health and growth in His body not stagnant, unchanging lives.

There's Going To Be a Wedding ~

The story of the 10 virgins and their lamps;

10 women were invited to a wedding
5 came bringing oil and their lamps
5 came with their lamps but with no oil.

When that day comes we will all enter heaven individually.
We will not be able to blame anyone for our lack of knowledge and experience (oil)
We will not be able to borrow or barter for oil. We must have our own.

I have heard people say that they need to think about it.  That they are not ready.  That they would do it closer to death.
Do you know when you are going to die?   It usually catches people by surprise just as the Lord's Coming will.

"I never knew you"  Wow what a horrible thing to hear.

The wise virgins had taken the time to get their oil, they were prepared and ready
The foolish were not prepared.  They thought they would still have time.

Friend, the scripture says "He will come as a thief in the night"
Prepare.  Make sure you know Him and that HE knows you.

You ARE Over It!

Years ago I  listened to a woman tell me her story and thru out the time she said  over and over " I will never get over it"   Well you know what?   If you have accepted Jesus as your Savior you ARE  over it!  You are seated with Him above the principalities and powers.  Ephesians 2:6

It is your choice.
Choose.
Get over or stay under.
The enemy has many people trapped "under" certain circumstances that they have believed a lie about.   Study the Scripture and find out for yourself.  It is a finished work.  There is nothing that we can add to it.  It is done once and for all.

So friend, examine your "seating"   Where are  you?  Today believe what the Scriptures say and "Get over it"!

Blessings!

A Good Name

What do people think when they hear your name?

The Scripture says that a good name is better than silver or gold.

Proverbs 22:1

A good name is more desirable than great riches; to be esteemed is better than silver or gold.

Many have taken their name down along with their reputation.

How about A New Year ~ A New Name!

If you are feeling tarnished when you read this go to the side of your bed and take it up with the Lord.
He is the one who can cleanse you and set your feet on a firm setting.

Begin today, in this New Year of 2012, to walk in a way that will bring Glory to His Name and your name will eventually take on a new meaning.

It's true.

I'm thankful that the Bible says that there's a new name written down in glory....and IT'S MINE!

Deflated Santa

Mom and I took a ride today and everywhere I looked I saw "deflated" Santas.  So Sad.

Santa tends to only be "alive and well " during the Christmas season.

I'm so thankful for Jesus, the manger, the cross and the empty tomb.  These symbols never deflate.  They remain a firm foundation to the Christian faith. They are tangible and real.

There is power in the Name of Jesus.
He is alive.  He hears and answers prayer.
He never slumbers or sleeps.  He is everywhere at once!
He is ALL powerful!  He is ALL knowing.  Nothing is too difficult for Him!
His will is for healing, deliverance, freedom and  eternal life with Him!

Yes life is hard....but that is beside the point!  It would be harder without the Lord.  Do not be fooled.
Jesus is the answer for the world today!

Lies Lies Lies

"God doesn't really care about me.
I am an unlovable worthless person.  Nobody will ever love me.
Ill never be able to change
I've been a failure all my life  I guess Ill always be a failure.
If people really knew me they wouldn't like me "*

Do you ever think or agree with any of these statements?

If so you have been duped by the enemy.

What does the Word say?

1 John 4:9-10                I am deeply loved by God
Romans 3: 19-25           I am completely forgiven and fully pleasing to God
Coll. 1: 19-22                I am totally accepted by God
2 Cor 5:17                     I am absolutely  complete in Christ
